FAQs about Sugar and Spice Cockapoos

Q: Where are you located?
A: We live on a small family-run farm about thirty minutes outside of Columbia, SC.

Q: Can we come see your dogs and/or puppies?
A: By appointment only. We are happy to schedule a visit for anyone who has applied and been approved to join our waiting list. Please do not stop by, or visit without an appointment. We will not place puppies in any home that has not already been approved through the application process.
Please understand that young puppies are very sensitive, especially to contagious diseases like parvovirus. We always want to keep them as safe as possible.

FAQs About Cockapoos

Q: What are Cockapoos?
A: Cockapoos were created by crossing the Poodle and Cocker Spaniel breeds. A Cockapoo is any dog that has only Poodle AND Cocker Spaniel in its pedigree/lineage, in any combination. The classic Cockapoo look is most consistently seen in first generation Cockapoos (F1), where one parent is a Poodle, and the other a Cocker Spaniel. We breed multi-generation Cockapoos, pairing dogs who range from F1b-F4, as of 2021.

FAQs About Our Puppies

Q: Where are your puppies born and raised?
A: Our puppies are born and raised in our homes.

Q: What medical care will my puppy receive?
A: All our puppies visit the veterinarian at least once, usually around six-eight weeks old, are microchipped, and typically receive at least their first vaccines with us as well. They are given regular preventative dewormers, and you will be provided a full medical record in the go-home papers when you pick up your puppy.

As a breeder partner with Trupanion, all our puppies are pre-approved for a special introductory offer with their pet medical insurance, and we provide an offer code to sign up for coverage. This coverage must be activated by the buyer within 24 hours of the go-home date. Insurance for at least the first 30 days is required for all of our families/puppies.

FAQs About Our Prices and Policies

Q: What are your prices?
A: As of 2024, our puppies are $2500-$3500. Each litter/puppy will have their price posted with their information on the Current Puppies page. Additional SC tax of 8% added to posted price. There is a $100 payment to join our waiting list. This amount is non-refundable, and is NOT applied toward the puppy’s listed price.

Q: How do I make a waiting list payment and/or pay for a puppy?
A: Payments to join the waiting list can be made by mailing a check, or payment through Good Dog online. This $100 payment to join our waiting list is non-refundable, and considered valid to reserve that place on our waiting list for up to one year. If you have not chosen an available puppy from one of our litters within a one-year period of when we received your $100 payment, without specific arrangements made otherwise, you will forfeit that amount, and your position on our waiting list.
When paying by check or Good Dog, please confirm the address/process with us, as well as approval to join our waiting list.

When you pick out/are matched with your puppy, one half of their balance is due. Final payment (balance plus SC tax) is due by check at least one week in advance of their go-home date, by payments through Good Dog (additional fees may apply) prior to or when you pick up your puppy, or cash when you pick up your puppy.
If you are making a payment for a puppy with fewer than two weeks before delivery or pick-up, please contact us to confirm payment arrangements (personal checks will not be accepted unless there is time for the check to clear).

Q: What is your guarantee?
A: Please read our entire Guarantee and Contract (posted on its own page).

Q: Do you ship your puppies?
A: No, we do not ship our puppies. Most of our families drive in to meet us locally, while some choose to fly in to Columbia. We do also have limited availability to deliver/nanny puppies by ground or air travel, for an additional fee.
