Guardian Homes – Sugar and Spice Cockapoos
Some of our mom and dad dogs don’t live with us, but instead live with other families who have partnered with us as “guardian homes”. These homes are usually within 2-4 hours from us (in central South Carolina), so that they don’t have to drive too far, and we can stay connected along the way.
Our guardian home dogs spend most of their lives with their families, but come back to stay with us briefly a few times per year when they are bred (usually for about a week), and also for females when they birth and raise their puppies (for around ten weeks).
Guardian homes may welcome their new addition as a puppy or an adult dog, depending on different circumstances, but in either case they contract with us to allow the dog to be a part of our breeding program, while also being a part of their home. Then, once the dog retires from our program, they simply stay with their family for the rest of their lives.
